The victim was isolated, excluded, and bullied at school. On July 22, the bully lured the victim to an uninhabited building, ordered her to take off all her clothes, slapped her multiple times, kicked her back, and beat her all over with a stick. The entire process lasted for 4 hours. The girl said her father would report to the police, but the bully claimed they had been in and out of jail many times and would be out in more than twenty minutes. Their attitude was arrogant, and there are videos online that are heartbreaking to watch. Many of us are parents or are about to become parents. The current attention is not high; we cannot turn a blind eye and hope for a fair punishment.
Sichuan Minor Bullying Incident Allegedly Received Light Punishment, Local Police Refute Claims of Perpetrators Being Officials' Children#
Last month, after a minor in Jiangyou City, Sichuan was beaten by multiple individuals, many parents expressed dissatisfaction online with the police's light handling of the case, with claims such as "the daughter of the deputy director of Jiangyou City Public Security Bureau is one of the attackers." On Monday (August 4), local police refuted these claims and imposed administrative penalties on the involved netizens.
A video circulated online last Saturday (2nd) showing a minor girl being surrounded and beaten by several other minors. The video shows the girl being forced to remove her clothing, wearing only her underwear, kneeling, and being continuously slapped and kicked, with someone recording the entire process.
In the video, the girl pleads for mercy, saying her family will report to the police, but the bullies say they are not afraid of the police, claiming they have "been in (jail) before," with a severe attitude that sparked public outrage. Some netizens claiming to be alumni of the group of girls stated that the bullying occurred simply because the girl's mother is deaf and mute.
On Monday, the Jiangyou City Public Security Bureau announced that they had imposed public order penalties on the bullies surnamed Liu and Peng, and were in the process of sending them to a special school for corrective education. Another bully and the remaining bystanders were given criticism and education, and their guardians were ordered to strictly supervise them.
The reported penalties sparked dissatisfaction among many local parents, who surrounded relevant departments demanding severe punishment for the perpetrators, even clashing with police at one point.
In response to subsequent online claims such as "the daughter of the deputy director of Jiangyou City Public Security Bureau is one of the attackers," "the perpetrator's father is a lawyer," and "the perpetrator's mother is a first-level police officer in Jiangyou City," local police released a statement on Tuesday (August 5) stating that after verification, the parents of the three offenders included two unemployed, two working outside the province, one local salesperson, and one local delivery person, and the information regarding the offenders' parents' occupations was false.
The statement also mentioned that after seeing the circulated bullying video on Monday, netizens Ding and Yang fabricated rumors to attract attention and spread them in WeChat groups and social platforms, severely disrupting public order and causing a negative social impact. Currently, both have been administratively punished by the public security authorities.
